Welcome! If you are not a resident of Georgia please click here and select your state.

Driver Ed in a Box® can be used to give you the tools to help your teen develop safe collision-free habits during the state-required 40 hours of supervised driving.   If your teen has not completed an approved driver's education course, they cannot get their Class D driver's license until they reach age seventeen (17). Remember, forty (40) hour of driving experience, including six (6) hours of driving at night, is always required for a Class D driver's license.

All teenagers under the age of 18 must complete and pass the Georgia Alcohol Drug Awareness Program (ADAP) in order to receive their Class D driver's license. This course is taught in both public and private schools in four one-hour sessions, usually in the ninth grade.  If your teen has not already taken the course, you can go to this web address (http://www.dds.ga.gov/ADAP/ADAP_Schedule.aspx) to find a location near you.  There is no fee the ADAP course.

An Instructional Permit must be held for 1 year and 1 day prior to being issued a Class D driver’s license.  An Instructional Permit is required for all behind-the-wheel driving.  The first 6 hours of the classroom included in our course, combined with the Georgia Driver Manual, will give your teen all the information they need to take their examination and receive their Instructional Permit at age 15.  The Instructional Permit is valid for two years.

The Driver Ed in a Box® program gives you the tools to master the skills of each section of driving (we break it down to Parking Lot, Neighborhood, Two Lane and Four Lane Light Traffic, Freeway, Rural and Heavy Traffic). With our checklist and audio CDs, it allows the student to master the skills required in each area at their own pace before moving on to the next section.  All of this instruction more than satisfies the 40 hours of behind-the-wheel (BTW) instruction Georgia requires.

If your teen has completed our course, is at least 17 years old (Georgia state requirements) and has held their Instructional Permit for 1 year and 1 day, they can go to the local driver license examiner and take their road test.

To obtain a Driver License, the student must have a verification form provided by the Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) signed by a parent or legal guardian verifying that the applicant has COMPLETED a minimum of 40 hours of behind-the-wheel practice, including six hour of driving at night.  You can simply go to the following link and print the form:

Parents using Driver Ed in a Box® to work directly with their teen and supervise their progress ensures the safest teen drivers on the road.

Teens want to know how to stay out of collisions!
Today’s teens do not just want their license; they want to be good collision-free drivers. They know the risks. Virtually all have friends who got a license and were involved in a collision in the first four weeks. Most teens have lost classmates due to fatal collisions.
Driver Ed in a Box® Certificate of Completion!

Our product now includes both the Interactive CD-Rom Version and the Textbook Version for one low price.  You may use either version to complete the course at your own pace.

Teens want to know "why" the things you ask them to do will work. When you complete the full course you get a Certificate of Completion. Take this to your insurance agent. It varies state by state and by insurance company, but you may receive an insurance discount.
Using the full course your teen will learn why each step is important while learning the collision-free HABITS that make you a better driver. The full course also includes a section on Social & Consumer Issues. This includes how alcohol and drugs as well as emotions and attitude affect driving performance. Also covered are vehicle ownership (buying, leasing, insuring, and maintaining).
Over 15,000 students have used Driver Ed in a Box®.
"Excellent. Having driven with my teen, I feel much more confident of her abilities and will be less anxious about letting her drive." Deborah Myers, Alpharetta, Georgia
"It was very informative from the time you start lesson one to the time you complete the program. I honestly thought it was just going to waste my time and be yet another hoop that I had to jump through just to get my license." T.A.C., Dallas, Georgia
"I do think this is an excellent program. My own driving skills have improved & it made teaching my child much easier. I look forward to using it again with my daughter next year." M.V., LaGrange, Georgia
