| Summary of Pennsylvania licensing process for minors. |
|
A Driver
Education course is not a prerequisite to getting your Learner's
Permit, or Junior License. If
you do not foresee a need for an unrestricted license until 18 you
will not be required to take a traditional driving course.
If you do decide you require an unrestricted license prior to
turning 18 you will be required to take a commercial driving
course.. Teens between
the ages of 16 - 18 are required to complete the following 3 steps:
Pennsylvania
has a three stage licensing process for minors.
- Learner's Permit
(at least age 16) We recommend our Driver Ed in a Box®
- to use during the Learner stage. Shows the parent how
to teach collision-free driving habits and provides unique
teaching tools (mirrors, checklists, videos, audio instruction
series, etc.).
- Junior License
(ages 16 1/2 - 17) Can not drive between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.
- Regular License
(age 18 without state approved driver education course). (Age 17
if has had Junior license at least 6 months and completed state
approved driver education course).
Driver Ed in a Box® will
help your teen become a safe collision - free driver. Please take your time, go through our website and see for
yourself the value in using our course.
Then purchase the course, study the first section to prepare
for the learners license exam, follow the course and checklist to
enjoy your driving experience over the learner's period,.
Good luck and we hope you have many, many
years of collision free driving ahead!!
Please
see the chart at the bottom of this page for requirements for each
licensing stage.

| Teens want to know how to stay out of collisions!
|
| Todays teens do not just want their license;
they want to be good collision-free drivers. They know the risks.
Virtually all have friends who got a license and were involved in
a collision in the first four weeks. Most teens have lost classmates
due to fatal collisions. |

"My in-vehicle training experience
was very convenient and suited my family perfectly. It was nice to
practice driving in the vehicle that I use all the time. Teaching
me to drive while actually going to where we needed to be saved my
parents a lot of time and trouble. I appreciated short practice sessions
over many months with my parents instead of intense sessions with
a stranger. After listening to your audiotapes my parents were much
better at giving me clear instructions." - Student, Washington
Boro, Pennsylvania |

"My daughter was almost done
with the state required hours when we used the course. My second
daughter will be using it from the very beginning." L.L.,
Industry, Pennsylvania
"Driver Ed in a Box is a good systematic approach to all driving
situations." L.S., Birdsboro, Pennsylvania
"Driver Ed in a Box covers all the major things you need to
know and trains students for good driving habits." Gregory
Pierce, Folcroft, Pennsylvania |
|
"The kit teaches the parent
how to teach the proper driving techniques. The kit was also very
educational for the parent." L.E., Richland, Pennsylvania
"The tapes set a peaceful tone for the in-vehicle training."
- Parent, Washington Boro, Pennsylvania
"Driver Ed in a Box helped me become more knowledgeable, especially
with my dad as the trainer. I felt more comfortable and able to
focus. I felt confident about asking questions without feeling awkward.
I was able to practice the information I was learning, and become
aware of the correct and incorrect things I was doing." - Student,
